INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS
In the summer of 2011, Dave, a member of the Microfinance Club, worked with a Cameroonian NGO and a microfinance institution to set up a microenterprise program for young adults in Buea, Cameroon.
In March 2011, a group of nine of our club members had the opportunity to travel to Panama to visit and learn about Panamanian microfinance organizations.
Our first international project, the Microfinance Club was able to facilitate loans for a driven community in Kyrgyzstan to establish a sewing shop and a bakery.
This year the Vanderbilt Microfinance Club is partnering with Manna Project International to bring Vanderbilt students to Quito, Ecuador to learn about and engage in microfinance projects.
Partnering with the Belize Project, a nonprofit organization that is run from Nashville but based in Belize, the Microfinance Club is working to establish a microcredit program for a women's group in Belize.
