INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS

In the summer of 2011, Dave, a member of the Microfinance Club, worked with a Cameroonian NGO and a microfinance institution to set up a microenterprise program for young adults in Buea, Cameroon.

In March 2011, a group of nine of our club members had the opportunity to travel to Panama to visit and learn about Panamanian microfinance organizations.
​
​​
Our first international project, the Microfinance Club was able to facilitate loans for a driven community in Kyrgyzstan to establish a sewing shop and a bakery.

​​
This year the Vanderbilt Microfinance Club is partnering with Manna Project International to bring Vanderbilt students to Quito, Ecuador to learn about and engage in microfinance projects.​​
​

Partnering with the Belize Project, a nonprofit organization that is run from Nashville but based in Belize, the Microfinance Club is working to establish a microcredit program for a women's group in Belize.
